Vegan superstar comes to Penn State Great Valley
If you are intrigued about the vegan life but worry that it’s expensive, too hard to maintain or just plain cow-hugging weird, join Penn State Great Valley on November 13 as we host holistic health counselor, author, and longtime vegan, Victoria Moran for an inspiring talk and book signing. Moran will discuss Main Street Vegan: Eating Green & Loving Life from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Conference Center at Penn State Great Valley. The event is free and open to the public. Registration is required at http://mainstreetveganatpsgv.eventbrite.com.
Copies of Moran’s bestselling vegan bible, Main Street Vegan will be for sale before and after the talk and Moran will do a book signing at the end of the evening.
"Being vegan is a glorious adventure. It touches every aspect of my life -- my relationships, how I relate to the world," says Moran, author of 12 books including the Main Street Vegan, which VegNews magazine calls “The Vegan Bible, New Testament,” and whose fans include Russell Simmons and Bill Clinton.
??Becoming vegan "is so much easier now, there's so much more support for it." On the other hand, "we're eating more junk food in more absurd portions. If you want to be the kind of vegan who glows and ages amazingly and who doesn't have weight issues, then you'll be eating lots of greens and berries, big salads with onions and mushrooms, which are wonderful phytochemicals, and not so much processed food."
Moran advocates making the switch to vegan by taking small steps rather than by radical change. "Enjoy your food, enjoy your life," and make sure your diet always includes a healthy serving of magic. "Life would be very dreary if there were no magic," says Moran. "If the real world were only that veil of tears, I just don't think could get up in the morning."
