Registering for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Courses

Registration deadline for all courses is three (3) business days before the course start date, unless otherwise stated.

There is no formal application process to take our open enrollment professional development courses, whether you want to take one course or an entire certificate program.  

Online: You may register online using American Express, Discover, MasterCard or Visa, by clicking "Register online" on the course web page. You will receive an e-mail as your only confirmation.
NOTE: When using corporate cards, “education” purchases must be allowed by the card. Also, some cards require an approval code, which cannot be accepted by our system. In both these circumstances, the cardholder needs to contact their card-issuing bank to remove these controls.

By Phone: Call the Penn State Outreach Non-credit office at 814-867-4973 to register using American Express, Discover, MasterCard, or Visa; Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

In Person: Registrar's office, Penn State Great Valley, 30 E. Swedesford Rd, Malvern (610-648-3274), First floor. Monday - Thursday, 8:30 a.m. - 6:15 p.m. or Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Remember to bring your completed Registration Form with you. Payment can be made by American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Visa, check, or money order.


If you cannot attend a course, you may receive a full refund by notifying the continuing professional education office at 610-648-3281 before the first night of class. There are no refunds once class has begun. Refunds will not be issued for classes missed as a result of illness, personal emergencies, or any other event beyond the University’s control. No refunds will be made to students who attempt to take courses without complying with the prerequisite requirements.

Course Cancellation

The University reserves the right to cancel courses due to insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. Full refunds will be given under these circumstances.


A confirmation email will be sent upon registering. Review your confirmation for accuracy and report any discrepancies immediately to the Outreach Non-credit office at 814-867-4973.  Room assignments are posted in the lobby the first night of class.

Emergency closing notification

In the event of a weather or another emergency, call 610-648-3399 or check Weather Alerts/Closings. Information is also available on radio station KYW-1060 AM through an emergency closing code: RADIO CODE 2851 (Chester County). If the radio code is broadcast, all classes and activities at Penn State Great Valley will be canceled. If the radio code is not broadcast, classes will meet as regularly scheduled.
