Who Should Attend

Anyone interested in learning enhancements to the Java language that will assist them in faster development of both client and web applications.

Overview

This course teaches how to build a database-driven web application using the highly productive Grails framework.  The Grails framework gets its productivity from Groovy, the dynamic version of Java, and mature industry-accepted libraries such as Spring and Hibernate.   Course time is evenly divided between learning Groovy and learning Grails.  Each session will include in-class programming to develop skills.  Students will also build a Grails application.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of a current programming language required (Java background extremely helpful though not required); Understanding of web development required (Servlet and JSP background extremely helpful though not required)

Continuing Education Units

Continuing Education Units (CEUs), based on a standard of one unit per 10 hours of classroom contact, are awarded
