The Penn State Great Valley Alumni Society will host the Penn State Family Tailgate Fest for campus alums and the general public on Saturday, October 20, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. During the event, which will be held in the Musser Auditorium of the Safeguard Scientifics Building on campus, guests will enjoy food, games, activities, a live viewing of the Penn State/Indiana football game on a 30-foot screen if game time permits, a visit from the Nittany Lion, and much more.
There will be plenty of Penn State related prizes distributed through giveaways, raffles and a silent auction, including Penn State football tickets, and a color lithograph of the 1986 Fiesta Bowl signed by several players from the national championship team, which will be auctioned off during the festivities. There will be a host of activities for children, including carnival games with prizes, face-painting and hair-coloring, and cheerleader and Tae-Kwon-Do clinics. Cost is $15 for ages 13 and up; $5 for children ages 4-12; and free for children under 4.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Penn State Great Valley Alumni Achievement Scholarship Fund. Pre-registration is not necessary, but those who register by October 1 will receive a coupon for free Creamery ice cream. Payment will be accepted in advance or at the door. Penn State Great Valley is located at 30 E. Swedesford Road, Malvern.
