MBA in Business Administration:  Prospective Students

 The Masters of Business Administration emphasizes the traditional management areas of accounting, finance, marketing, and economics, and their roles in developing and executing business strategies.  It enhances understanding of today's global economy and competitive forces. 

We offer courses in 7 and 14-week formats.  Seven-week classes meet 2 evenings a week. Fourteen-week classes meet 1 evening a week.  Several classes in the 7-week format are held on Saturdays.  There are six 7-week sessions each academic year.  You may begin at the start of any session.

A rich offering of electives provides depth and breadth in a variety of areas.  You may choose your electives from any of the following areas:

  • Finance
  • Biotechnology and Health Industry Management
  • Human Resources Management
  • Management Information Systems
  • Marketing
  • New Ventures and Entrepreneurial Studies
  • Management and Organization

Admission requirements

Applicants should

  • Hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Have a working knowledge of statistics and accounting.
  • Submit all necessary forms, documentation, and fees.
  • Have at least 3 years of professional work experience.

Degree requirements

You should meet pre-program requirements in quantitative skills and communication skills via previous course work or take 6 credits of Pre-program Requirements

The MBA requires up to 45 credits. Students may be exempt from up to 15 credits from the MBA core for previous academic preparation.

Management Faculty

The Management faculty represents a mix of academic scholars and business professionals.  The full-time professors all hold doctoral degrees and have professional experience in corporations, nonprofits, or as entrepreneurs.  Adjunct professors from corporate and entrepreneurial ventures supplement fundamental management theories with current marketplace experience.

Students

The MBA program attracts students from both corporate and nonprofit sectors as well as physicians, attorneys, and professionals in health management, human services, and scientific fields.
