Management Division Mission Statement

The mission of the Penn State Great Valley Management Division is to provide high quality, graduate level education for working professionals located primarily in the Southeastern Pennsylvania Region.  We emphasize lifelong learning in our curriculum by facilitating improvement in analytical and critical thinking, communication, and information technology skills. 

We also strive to advance the understanding and practice of management in a dynamic global economy.  This is accomplished in a format that is accommodating to students’ careers and consistent with the excellence and academic leadership associated with Penn State. 

As teacher-scholars, we place equal emphasis upon high quality teaching and research while providing appropriate service to our students, alumni, and the business community.  The Division is dedicated to bridging the gap between theory and practice in graduate management education.

Goals and Associated Objectives

Recruit and retain a well-qualified and diverse student population of working adult professionals in the Southeastern Pennsylvania Region.

Associated Objectives

  • Develop and implement systematic initiatives to promote the Penn State Great Valley MBA in the Southeastern Pennsylvania Region.
  • Strive to maintain a student body that reflects the racial, ethnic, and gender diversity of professionals in the Southeastern Pennsylvania Region who hold bachelor's degrees.
  • Offer support systems to meet the identified needs of students and assist them in completing the program successfully.
