Who should attend

Professionals interested in upgrading programming and development skills to the .NET framework  through courses in which they create applications using VB.NET WinForms, WebForms, and WebServices as well as writing components using the C# (sharp) language.

Certificate Requirement – Four Courses

A Penn State Great Valley certificate is awarded upon completion of the four required courses.  Courses should be taken in the suggested order below.  If you do not need the entire sequence, you're welcome to take any course that interests you.

Required Courses  (Note:  All courses in this program are taught using Visual Studio 2008)

CSE 6963 -  Visual Basic.NET –  Introduction (21 hours of instruction)   Prerequisites: Knowledge of any structured programming language, such as C or C++ is required. Experience with Visual Basic or any GUI is helpful but not required.

CSE 5200 - Introduction to C# (sharp) (21 hours of instruction)  Prerequisites: Experience with a programming language is required
Next offering - October 2008

CSE 6994 - ASP.NET (21 hours of instruction)
Prerequisites: Working knowledge of VB.NET and XML.NET or C# (sharp)
Next offering - January 2009

CSE 5212 -  .NET Web Services and ADO.NET Applications (21 hours of instruction)Prerequisites:  ASP.NET, and VB.NET or C#  
Next offering - March 2009
