Certificate Offered at West Chester

School Notes

Pennsylvania State University Great Valley will come to the West Chester Area School District in the fall, offering a graduate certificate course at Fern Hill Elementary School.

"Leadership in Elementary Science Teaching," a four-course certificate program, will be offered at the elementary school, starting with the first course, "Food Science for Elementary Teachers," this fall. Classes will be held from 4:15 to 7:15 p.m. each Tuesday from Sept. 11 to Dec. 11.

The program is open to teachers from all school districts in the area, at a cost of $1,743 per course to Pennsylvania residents and $3,144 for out-of-state residents.

The three other courses in the program, which is Act 48-approved, also will be offered at Fern Hill, 915 Lincoln Ave., West Chester.
