Current students and graduates of the Master of Leadership Development (MLD) degree program at Penn State Great Valley School of Graduate Professional Studies will discuss how the program has affected their efforts at work and in the community during the second annual “Leadership in Action” MLD Showcase Event on Wednesday, April 16, from 5:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. in the Safeguard Scientifics Building on campus.
The program, which is free and open to the public, kicks off at 5:15 p.m. with networking and refreshments, as well as leadership-themed showcase tables in the areas of human resources, sales and marketing, entrepreneurship, and the MLD program/curriculum, manned by MLD students and graduates. From 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., participants will have an opportunity to learn about Penn State Great Valley’s MLD program through a short video, as well as a presentation by John J. Sosik, professor-in-charge of the leadership program.
This will be followed by a leadership panel discussion featuring current MLD students and graduates, including John Juzbasich, MLD, owner of Wayne-based Merit Systems, who will share how a class project spurred him to donate badly needed items to the people of Liberia. He also established a business in Liberia to sell various hard-to-get goods to area companies and the government. The panel also features Bill Jordan, director of clinical research at Sanofi-Aventis Corporation, and his colleague, operating manager Michael Agard, who will speak about how they’ve implemented the program’s leadership concepts in their organization; and Erinn Wischum of United States Liability Insurance Group. A question-and-answer session will follow, and the formal program concludes at 7:15 p.m.
Penn State Great Valley is located at 30 E. Swedesford Road, Malvern. For information on this program call 610-648-3248.
