Penn State Great Valley School of Graduate Professional Studies will welcome members of the Tuskegee Airmen to campus on Wednesday, February 13 to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Black History Month. A program titled, “Legendary Heroes: A Tribute to the Tuskegee Airmen,” will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Safeguard Scientifics Building on campus. It will include a one-hour film on the World War II African American air corps unit, the first of its kind, and members will speak about their experiences.
One of the Tuskegee Airmen who is likely to be on hand is Luther Smith, a 1977 Master of Engineering degree graduate of the Radnor Center for Graduate Studies and Continuing Education (which later moved and became Penn State Great Valley).
This event is free and open to the public. Penn State Great Valley is located at 30 E. Swedesford Road, in Malvern. For information call 610-648-3336.
