Penn State Great Valley School of Graduate Professional Studies has added six business and educational leaders to its campus advisory board: Joseph Henry, vice president of corporate planning and support services at Independence Blue Cross, who lives in Huntington Valley; Merle Horowitz, superintendent of Marple Newtown School District, who lives in Wynnewood; David Rice, CIO and vice president of Siemens Medical Solutions USA, who lives in Chester Springs; Joseph Trench, president of Lockheed Martin Information Systems/Global Services Performance Excellence, who lives in Boyertown; John Weaver, vice president of human resources for Ametek, Inc., who lives in Downingtown; and Sharon Parker, superintendent of Unionville-Chadds Ford School District.
Appointed by Penn State President Graham Spanier, the board advises the campus leadership on community needs, curriculum, marketing, and related matters. The new board members were carefully selected to add special insights to campus operations and planning.
“This is a stellar set of new members,” says Penn State Great Valley Chancellor Diane M. Disney. "All of us are really looking forward to their ideas and participation."
