Dr. Stein's research interests focus on the role of knowledge and expertise in business organizations. Specifically: (i) management information systems (MIS) with emphasis on decision support and expert systems; (ii) organizational memory and learning; i.e., the acquisition, retention and use of knowledge in organizations; and (iii) the characteristics of human experts.
