Master of Education (M.Ed.): Curriculum and Instruction
 


 The Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Curriculum and Instruction

This degree has 4 emphases:

There are six 7-week sessions each academic year. You may begin at the start of any session.  We offer courses in 7 and 14-week formats. Seven-week classes meet 2 evenings a week or a full day on Saturdays. Fourteen-week classes meet 1 evening a week or a half-day on Saturdays.  A varied schedule is offered in the summer.

C&I courses are offered at Penn State Great Valley, West Chester School District, and North Penn High School.

Note: The M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction program does not provide Pennsylvania Instructional I teaching certification.  Teachers must apply for certification through the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

Degree requirements

The M. Ed. is 30 credits and includes a master's paper.  You may take up to 9 credits on a nondegree basis which can be transferred into the degree.

You will need  to meet with the curriculum and instruction academic adviser to plan course selections.
