The Post-Master's Certificate Program in Biotechnology and Health Industry Management  

This program is designed for professionals holding advanced degrees who want to advance their career in the health care and health service industry.  It combines health care industry, business, and management courses.

Admission requirements

Applicants must

  • Hold a baccalaureate and an advanced (master's or above) degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Meet Post-Master's in Biotechnology and Health Industry Management prerequisite competencies.
  • Submit all necessary forms, documentation, and fees.

Certificate requirements

The Post-Masters Certificate in Biotechnology and Health Industry Management is 12 credits (4 classes).  Students who have not completed a graduate-level managerial accounting course must take prerequisite competencies.

  • BUSAD 530 - Biotechnology and Health Industry Overview 
  • BUSAD 534 - Ethical Dimensions of Management in the Biotechnology and Health Industry 
  • BUSAD 583 - Future of the Biotechnology and Health Industry

Elective courses (choose a minimum of 1)

  • HPA 536 - Health Law
  • HPA 550 - Health Care Marketing
  • HPA 555 - Information Systems in Health Services Organizations
  • xxx 597 - Special Topics in Biotechnology and Health Industry
  • SWENG 552 - Bioinformatics

Management course schedule

The program offers courses in 7-week formats.  Seven-week classes meet 2 evenings a week.  Fourteen-week classes meet 1 evening a week.  Several classes in the 7-week format are held on Saturdays.

There are six 7-week sessions each academic year.  Students may begin at the start of any session.

 Management Faculty

The Management faculty represents a mix of academic scholars and business professionals.  The full-time professors all hold doctoral degrees and have professional experience in corporations, non-profits, or as entrepreneurs.  Adjunct professors from corporate and entrepreneurial ventures supplement fundamental management theories with current marketplace experience.

  Students

Students in this program come from a wide range of professional backgrounds including health care, allied health services, government, consulting firms, and information systems vendors.
