Concurrent Candidacy is an innovative, interdisciplinary program at Penn State Great Valley enabling students to complete two master’s degrees with a possible 20% reduction in total course load. Selected courses meet degree requirements for both programs. It is the only way in which Penn State will count one set of credits for two programs. Students should consult graduate division heads to develop a plan of study that must be approved by the Graduate
School.
Students must be active in the first master’s degree to be eligible for concurrent candidacy. Not all graduate programs participate in concurrent contracts.
