Leadership Development Certificate Program
Leadership effectiveness is an important factor today when organizations must simultaneously cut budgets while retaining and nurturing talent. Every organization needs skilled leaders to allocate limited resources and to create a work environment that encourages employees’ development, involvement, commitment, and retention. To meet the growing need for competent leaders, Penn State Great Valley has developed a new and unique Leadership Development Certificate Program.
Who should attend?

Supervisors who want to have more impact in leading their organization.

Those who have supervisory responsibility or responsibility for deliverables from project teams.

Employees who want to take on more responsibility, and possibly be promoted into a leadership position.
On-Site Programs
Companies and organizations can ask for the program to be conducted on site or at another location. Program content can be redesigned, condensed, and customized to meet the needs of the company.

How you will benefit
Each person’s style of leadership is slightly different, and in this course the unique strengths and limitations we all bring to leadership are taken into account with specific strategies discussed and tested. Students create a individualized leadership map drawing on material from each course. Students are given proven techniques, and learn from an experienced instructor and their fellow students.
Course Format
Classes offer practical advice, reviews of related literature and current authors, assessments, skill-building practice, and interactive learning opportunities to strengthen your existing leadership base. Each course has 21 hours of instruction.

A Penn State Great Valley certificate is awarded upon completion of the 4 required coursesto be taken in the sequence listed below, and 1 elective. If you do not require the entire sequence, you're welcome to take any course that interests you.
