Dropping or Withdrawing from a Course

If you drop or withdraw from a course, YOU MUST NOTIFY THE REGISTRATION OFFICE IMMEDIATELY.

  • Notifying the instructor does not constitute a drop or withdrawal from the course.
  • Not attending a class does not mean you have dropped or withdrawn from a course.

If your enrollment status drops to less than 5 credit hours per semester, all federal loans will be cancelled.

Dropping or withdrawing from a course before it begins:

You may be eligible for a 100 % adjustment if you notify the Registrar's Office before the first class meeting. For prompt delivery of your refund, go to eLion and click Refund Information.  Refunds will be electronically deposited into your account by clicking on Sign up for Rapid Refund. Refunds sent by mail will take longer.

To receive a full refund you must cancel the course by the following dates:

Fall I 2008

 Friday, August 29

  Fall II 2008

 Friday, October 17

Spring I 2009

Friday, January 9

Spring II 2009

Friday, March 6

Dropping or Withdrawing from a course after it begins:

Once a course begins, you must complete a Drop Form (if you are enrolled in more than one course during a semester) or a Withdrawal Form (if this is the only course you are enrolled in during the semester) and fax it to the Registrar's Office (610-648-3366).  Refunds are based on the date the Registrar's Office is officially notified, not the date you stop attending class. The percentage of tuition refund  depends on the length of the course (in weeks).  Dropping a course after it begins, will generate a $6.00 late drop fee for each transaction.

The University will not release refunds until at least three weeks after the date the payment was posted.

Tuition Adjustment (subject to change)

The percentage of tuition refund for a course is established by the duration of the course (in weeks).
